CPU usage will go up very high if the video you selected is encoded in a way the chromecast cannot read! It will increase only a bit if the audio format is wrong! The videos you are selecting (i,e, mist MKVs or AVIs, etc.) need to be converted on the fly by us, which uses a bunch of CPU! Be happy, a lot of peoples' PCs cannot handle this process!

[Developer Post] - Videostream just casts its tab!
Hi everyone! We think we figured this out!
If you run an antivirus (seen the issue with avast, avg and others) and open videostream from the chrome apps launcher in your start bar in windows sometimes Videostream will cast its tab instead of your video!
That's this launcher:
If instead you use the apps page in chrome, it shouldn't cast the tab!
If this helps please let us know which antivirus you use, if any! If it doesn't work, let us know!!
Cheers!

RE: start stop every five minutes or so
Again, these forums are no longer supported so please contact via email in future :)
The 5 minute issues (crashes and buffering) are caused by AVG and Avast on the new windows update and how they interact with chrome. There's nothing we can do at this point :( but to fix the problem you can disable your antivirus or put an exception in for chrome, and then reboot chrome with chrome://restart!
