Rules of Ihram
-
In order to conduct the hajj and umrah, Muslim men and women must enter the state of ihram, which is a divinely mandated total purity. No traveler is permitted to complete the Umrah or Hajj ceremonies without assuming ihram. The ceremonial attire worn during this time is still referred to as ihram. For pilgrims travelling with low-priced December Umrah Packages to the area in order to do the religious rites, it is necessary to wear Ihram from the Meeqat district.
Ihram's Spiritual Significance
Ihram not only promotes perfect equality among the pilgrims but also eradicates social and economic disparities between individuals. Due to its simplicity and regularity, the holy state of Ihram also forbids pilgrims from giving in to temptations of self-admiration.
Here is a quick summary of Ihram's regulations. How to dress in Ihram?
Preparations
One must:- Trim their fingernails and toenails before assuming Ihram.
- Get a haircut if required.
- Remove extra body hair using a razor.
- Wudhu can be performed as well as Ghusl because it is a sunnah and encouraged act (if no major physical impurity is present).
After completing all of this, the individual must dress appropriately for ihram prayer by performing two Rakat of the sunnah Salat-al-Ihram.
Clothes
For male pilgrims, the ihram is made out of two white sheets of plain cloth, one for the upper body and the other for the lower body. Nothing else made of stitching may be worn as Ihram. Men are also not allowed to wear shoes that hide their feet or ankles. For female pilgrims, ihram can be anything they normally wear; there is no set clothing code that must be followed. However, the attire should continue to adhere to Islamic teachings and regulations. Women are allowed to cover their feet when in the state of Ihram and can dress in embroidered clothing.
