As restrictions on travel around the world are lifted, you might want to start making plans for Cheap Ramadan Umrah Packages 2023. But before you start looking at flights, hotels, and prices for Umrah packages, have you thought about when is the best time to go?
We've looked after you. You'll want to know the best times of the year to go to Makkah and Madinah for Umrah so you can make the most of your pilgrimage, which for many people is a once-in-a-lifetime chance. Umrah is different from Hajj in that it can be done any time of the year. This means that there is no specific time of year to travel. So, it doesn't matter when you go as long as you plan the best trip possible for your pilgrimage.
Even though this is true, you should keep in mind that some months are better than others. Do you wish there was less going on for a while to calm your mind? Or maybe you want to give your kids a tour of Makkah while showing them the House of Allah? You'll have to figure out when the best time for you to travel is no matter what.
You might be thinking about a lot of things, like money and kids, but we've kept things simple for you here. We'll even use our "pilgrim-o-meter" to tell you when you're most likely to see the most pilgrims (the times that are busiest throughout the year).
What month can you go to Umrah?
Umrah is great because you can do it whenever you want (except for Hajj). We've made a list of some of the pros and cons of travelling at different times of the year, starting with Ramadan, the most blessed and good month:
Ramadan
We can safely say that the Umrah done during Ramadan is the best of the year, which is why it's our first choice. If you want more hasanat from your Lord, the best time to worship is during Ramadan, when worshippers get a lot of rewards. That sounds like a first-class Umrah trip, doesn't it?
As mentioned in a hadith:
Ibn 'Abbas told us that the Prophet of Allah told a woman from the Ansar, "When Ramadan comes, do 'Umrah, because 'Umrah in Ramadan is the same as Hajj."
In another hadith, the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa salam) said, "Umrah during Ramadan is the same as Hajj."
People from all over the world want to share in the benefits of this hadith, so the pilgrim-o-meter usually gives Ramadan a high score (that is to say, this is a very popular time for pilgrims). Blessed days of fasting, followed by blessed nights of taraweeh, and then the reward of Hajj without having to go!
You can have your cake and eat it too after iftar.
Spring
Many pilgrims also choose to go on Umrah in the spring because the weather is neither too hot nor too cold. Umrah is a great place to visit in the spring. This is especially true for people who might be surprised at how hot it is in the middle of the desert (also scoring highly on the pilgrim-o-meter). People come from all over the world to worship their Lord in Makkah. This is a city where things are always happening. This is a little bad if you'd rather go when it's not as busy.
Summer
Now, you'll find that from June to August, it's very hot. But pilgrims aren't as busy in these months as they are in the spring. Also, the prices of umrah packages have gone down, which is a plus. These are some of the best times to book flights and find the right Umrah package if you want to avoid a lot of other pilgrims.
Autumn
When fall starts in September, the weather can be very humid and it rains less often. The pilgrim-o-meter gives these months a low score because you might not find as many people booking, which is good because prices are lower then.
Winter
Many pilgrims find comfort in doing Umrah in the winter after Hajj is over in Dhul-Hijjah. One of the best times to do Umrah outside of Ramadan is in the winter, when the weather is warm and there aren't as many pilgrims. Not only that, but if you have booked Umrah with your family, this is one of the best times to plan tours and other activities with them. The average temperature in Makkah in December is 31°C, while the average temperature in Madinah is between 24°C and 25°C.
Can you perform Umrah at any time?
Umrah can be done at any time, as far as we know. Hajj, on the other hand, can only be done in the month of Dhul-Hijjah. There are better times of the year to do Umrah, like during Ramadan. There are also busier (or quieter) times and more expensive (or less expensive) packages.
How much does Umrah cost on average?
Umrah packages are available all year, but the price will change depending on when you book.
How long does it take to get a visa for Umrah?
Since the new electronic visa went into effect, things have never been easier for pilgrims. Now, you can get an e-visa in just 24 hours.
So now you have two options for Umrah:
With the e-visa for Umrah and the e-visa for tourists
How long does an Umrah last?
From the time a pilgrim enters the state of ihram until the time they cut or trim their hair and leave ihram, Umrah takes less than a day. During this time, pilgrims do tawaf, which is a walk around the Ka'bah, then Sa'ee, which is a walk between Safa and Marwa, and then they cut their hair.
Even though there aren't many steps to the Umrah pilgrimage, you'll want to spend more time in Makkah and Madinah.
May Allah tell you to do Umrah, and may He accept it from all of us.
