Loud Noise + Static Burst
-
When streaming videos, there is a 5-10 second burst of audio static about 1/5 of the way through the video. At the same time, the video freezes with many artifacts, turning largely pink. After the 5-10 seconds, playback resumes normally.
- Files are being streamed from a network drive
- Confirmed with MPEG, AVI, MKV, MP4 file types.
- Files act normally when played natively (i.e. directly in Windows).
The static noise is very loud, and quite annoying. Help would be appreciated!

Woah I have never heard of this before! Any chance you have another Chromecast somewhere in your house? Does it happen on that one too?
Is there any similarity between the files you're trying to stream - did you get them all from the same source, etc..?
(In tandem we are looking into what could be causing this - we definitely understand how horribly annoying would be)

Thanks for the quick reply.
In the process of investigating further, I had the same issue occur to me while not using Videostream. Thus, it appears that Videostream is not to blame. If I find a solution, I will post it here as a follow-up.

That'd be awesome - would still be super curious what caused this :D

I had this happen a few days ago. I then reset my Chromecast back to Factory Setting and re-installed it. The problem went away.
