The third chapter of the Quran, Surah Al Imran, is named for Imran's family, who were the father and grandfather of Jesus and Mary, respectively. It is broken up into three main portions and has 200 verses. It covers a wide range of subjects, such as the lives of Abraham and Mary, the value of relationships to one's family, Islam, and the significance of prayer and remembering Allah. The recitation of this surah is renowned for being both lovely and musical.
