I have the same issue as you describe.
The only difference is that I've got these problems with Huawei devices (tablet and phone).
Both are running on android 7.
When I use my old phone I haven't got any issues.

I'm using Videostream for a couple of years now. And had the same problem.
A long list of video's doesn't make it very simple to find the right one. The most usefull thing is this case is that I can search for recently added video's. In combination with keeping the video folder up to date, it is workable for me.
But then I thought of doing a feature request.
This request has already been made, 3 months ago. So maybe it is in progress.
I just want you to know I really would love the folder 'sort' feature.
