Chrome-App freezes if I want to cast
-
Hi,
I'm new here but I use Videostream premium since a long time with no issues, so from my side I want to say great work!
Unfortunately since one or two weeks I have the problem that if I want to start streaming the App gets frozen.
Frozen in that way that the app gets blurry but no popup appears where I can choose the chromecast device (see screenshots)
At the moment I can only use the Android App to stream and not from my PC.
I'm using the newest stable Chrome Version ( 71.0.3578.98 ) and for sure Windows 10.
Is there any log file or something I can attach?
For sure I restarted the pc, I killed all chrome processes. The only thing I did not have done is to deinstall my chrome and install is fresh.
Thanks for any help and idea.
Best regards,

Have the same thing but on windows 7. Do any one know how to fix this?

I'm having the same problem on Chrome OS. Just started yesterday.

Same issue for me as well
-
Happens to me as well.
I sent the team an email and will update on a response. -
Got a response. Didn't have time to test it, but write here if this works.
Google Chrome recently released an update that changes the UI of the casting function, this causes the "blurry" screen issue when trying to choose a casting device or a video. This issue occurs on the Google Apps version of Videostream. We have logged the bug with Google and are waiting to hear back. For now, the issue can be fixed by following these steps:
- Go to chrome://flags/
- Search "Views Cast dialog"
- On the "Views Cast dialog" feature, change it from "Default" to "Disabled"
- Search "Upcoming UI feaures"
- On the "Upcoming UI features" feature, change it from "Default" to "Disabled"
- You should see a prompt on the bottom left to restart chrome

This works! Thanks a lot!

Great works on my machine, too!
Awesome thanks

@AmirTugi Thanks a lot. This fixed my issue as well and I had a similar thought about this issue. Can you inform me when the latest UI gets a fix so we can revert to that?

@AmirTugi
Thanks! -
Hello,
I confirm that to date for the last update, the problem is still not solved. A big thank you for this temporary solution because I had not found any other site that could help me to solve this one. Well done to Google for this bug with Chromecast. It's been more than 3 weeks and the problem is still not resolved on their part. Have a good day everyone -
I had the same problem....your fix did the trick...
Thanks. -
@AmirTugi Thanks this worked for me.

WORKS!! Thank you!

Hello,
for a few days now, the problem of the freezing window has reappeared. The cause is probably still an update of Chrome. The Upcoming UI features option no longer exists. Did we have the same problem? If so, is there a solution? thank you in advance -
