Movies Do Not Start Playing

Every time that I select a movie, it just displays the pause symbol
I have checked firewall and antivirus and they both allow videostream.
The only way I can get them to work is uninstall/install the App, which is fine for a while.
Everything was fine and dandy until a few weeks ago. Any ideas or help would be grateful to stop a moody 6 yo giving me grief that she cant stream Frozen for the millionth time.

@Tommo can you tell me what the chromecast icon says after you start casting? Is it saying casting videostream or casting tab?
