Auto subtitles out of sync

I have had many movies and shows where I try the autoload subtitle feature from Opensubtitles.org but the subtitle is not timed right. Attempting to adjust the offset actually makes the problem worse and I cannot get the subtitles to display at the right time.
In most cases I have found that subtitles from subscene.com or other sources work just fine without any issue.
Most recent situation is Blade (1998).
Is there any way to add other sites for auto subtitle download to the app? Love the app and use it quite a bit, but Subtitles are necessary for my father and I both have hearing loss.
