While setting up the Security Event Mail Notification feature in your routerlogin.net window, a user must turn on the Email notifications checkbox. Without turning on this checkbox you will not be notified about any suspicious activities in your Netgear Router. In the outgoing server port number section, you need to select the port number. You also can find this information in the configuration window of your email program. The user mustn’t leave this field blank as no alert and notification will be sent if you didn’t fill up this blank. A user has to make sure that the email that he is providing the Outgoing mail server field should be in an active status because if it isn’t then you won’t be able to receive any logs and alerts during any mishap.
