Replacing my hard drive

Hello everyone, I'm dealing with a nasty problem with my Mac. A friend of mine told me that replacing the hard drive can help (the problem mainly concerns data corruption). Can I check if it is indeed the main cause before I spend money on a replacement?

Well, replacing the drive is a pretty extreme option. Have you checked if it's absolutely needed?

Before going the most expensive route and replacing the hard drive outright, you should diagnose your issue and see if it's indeed the hardware that is at fault. Take a peek at this ranking and use one of the software that's presented there to diagnose your hard drive. It might even be able to repair it!
