Waterjet Cutting
-
Simple rapid erosion of a chosen material occurs during waterjet cutting. A mixing chamber is filled with highly pressurised water that is shot through a ruby or diamond nozzle. The vacuum produced by the pressure pulls garnet sand into the stream, where it is discharged at the target to be cut. The sand particles consume the substance, causing erosion to occur at such a rapid rate that it is regarded as cutting. This has made it possible for waterjet cutting to develop into a very strong and adaptable equipment that is utilised in several sectors all over the world.
