My family moved to a new apartment a couple of months ago in another city and used movers from san francisco to san diego, and I want to say that I am very glad that I did not pack my things myself, but hired a shipping company. As for the pros and cons, mostly just pros. The guys arrived at the appointed time, packed and loaded all the furniture and small items on their own, unloaded them all upon arrival and brought them into the house. Of the minuses is that it was necessary to pay money, but without that we can't do without it).
