Audio: Headphone support on machine
-
Hey there!
I just started using the app and indeed must admit a great intervention to build this amazing tool. However, was wondering if there is any possibility to support headphones locally, i.e; to hear the audio via headphone/earphones when the same is connected to the streaming device or to the mobile remote and just stream the video alone to chrome cast?
Though we can connect the headphone/earphones to the large panel TV, the above option would be very handy in case when we are streaming the media from a laptop which would be in close proximity than the large panel TV.

@infected-brain yes, this would be awesome! Since I use my phone as a remote control, it would be perfect if the audio can be outputted on the phone.
That way, you can connect you headphones to your phone which is more portable than an computer/laptop.

Not going to happen. due to buffering on the chromecast, the player has no idea what part of the video is currently being played back. This would make it impossible to synch the audio on the pc and the video on the chromecast.

@infected-brain this feature has already been requested (http://community.getvideostream.com/topic/263/route-audio-to-pc-or-android/3) fingers crossed the (small) videostream team get a chance to implement this.

Most often, one or a pair of mini-speakers are lost due to haste or forgetfulness, and sometimes by pure chance. Headphones with a headband or a clothespin for attaching a wire are difficult to lose, but wireless in-ear devices can easily fall out if you move it carelessly. The reason why it can be difficult to find an audio device is that it can be trivially discharged (applies only to wireless models). Also, a stereo headset can be stolen, especially if it is a product from a well-known brand.
Headphones can get lost in transport, at work, at school, at home or on the street. Most often this happens when the headset is temporarily inactive, and therefore the loss is not immediately noticed.

There are unpleasant situations when headphones are stolen. One earbud from a pair of AirPods is definitely less useful to a thief than a pair. But if a criminal stole https://techsiteguide.com/can-you-track-stolen-headphones/ headphone from someone, then you can tie a pair together, forming a complete set and use it with a charging case and track the location of the headphone if the criminal hasn't gone far.
