Google will phase out Chrome apps for Windows, Mac and Linux

According to TechCrunch article and other sources that Google is going to disable Chrome apps for all OSs expect for Chrome OS .... what are you doing to do guys?
Thanks for your hard work.

Came here to ask this.

I believe this is an extension, which isn't the same as Chrome apps, so you shouldn't have to worry.
-
I hoped that it was just an extension, but it is in fact an app. If you go to the app launcher tab (app launcher for taskbar is another thing Google killed lately) and right click Videostream, it says app info. It's really confusing, but I think all apps are extensions, but not all extensions are apps.

Well, most Google "apps" are simply websites. Others are just extensions. Websites and extensions will still work, from what I understand, they just won't bother calling websites "apps" anymore, and the Chrome OS will actually have applications, which, of course, will only be functional on the Chrome OS.

Now I know Chrome apps for Windows, Mac, and Linux have been around for a while, but it seems Google's taking another step towards phasing them out. Here you check this landscape design wellington and get more new tips for ideas of Kapiti. In an email sent to Chrome developers (but also visible to anyone on the Google Cloud Platform) Adobe's Andrew Kortina reveals that Google is winding down support for the application development toolkit it first introduced in 2012.
