I had the same problem and after trying to shut down the AV problem still persisted. So, I did what acidhax mentioned. Added Chrome folder to Exempt list of my AV and now all the videos are streaming perfectly!

RE: .ISO seems to be in slow motion
@acidhax just wanted to let you know I've tried to play the original VBO files and I had the same issue. Any thoughts? Would you have any recommendation to convert a DVD to any compatible file type that I would not have issues with VideoStream?

RE: .ISO seems to be in slow motion
What type of movies do you currently support? I've been playing .ISO with no issues so far. Anyway. I wonder how I could make a DVD copy compatible with one of the file extensions Videostream would support.

.ISO seems to be in slow motion
I've been facing some issues playing .ISO movies. Somehow, after playing for a couple of minutes, it seems to be in slow motion for and then it comes back to the "normal" speed. If I keep playing the movie, the same behavior will happen several times when I am watching the movie.
I have some MKV HD movies and they are playing without this issue.
Any thoughts?
