Buffering every 5 minutes
-
Hi,
I have been using Videostream without any problem for several months, but now i have the next problem:
- Buffering every 5 minutes (aprox). It buffers a seconds and continue playing.
- If video is paused, when it gets that 5 minutes starts playing on its own.
I haven't changed anything in my hardware: same router, same pc (win 10), same Chromecast, same Android phone.
Tried uninstall and reinstall everything and problems persist.
Any idea on what to do or chek?
Thanks in advance,

I'm having the exact same problem. Have been using video stream and chromecast for over a year with no issues. This change just started happening yesterday. Buffer at random long intervals, and auto-playing itself after a bit of a pause.
-
I tried yesterday and is working OK again ... nothing changed, don't know what was the problem. Are you still having issues ?

Same problem here. It worked fine for months and now buffer buffer.......no changes on our end.

Same problem here.
It renders the app unusable. -
Just having the same problem today. No updates on this problem?

Exact same problem here.
Video will stream for 5min (exactly - to the second) then buffer for 3 seconds and resume play. If paused, the video auto starts after 5min.
Streaming doesn't start at all when done via laptop and can only be started via android app. Any suggestions or feedback on this?

Same Problem here! Has anyone figured out what is going on? It drives me crazy!! we haven't been able to even use videostream for over a month because of this.
-
Since a week ago it is buffering every 3 or 4 minutes, as described above.
It annoys a lot and ruins everything good from Videostream.
We wait for an answer. -
Same probleme here on W10. Was working well for months, then it just decided to act like that.
-
This is occurring to me as well. Can you please fix this?

The developers don't follow the forums anymore. We are notify support directly. I just that right now and hope a solution will come. I'll share whatever they say here, however if anyone else has emailed them already and got a response, I and the others would love to hear what was said. Thanks! :)

For me, the problem is with Malwarebytes. I had to add exclusion for application Videostream for Google Chromecast. Before that, I tried to turn off my anti-virus Avast, the free version, and that didn't fix it so Avast is not the problem. I also checked my Windows firewall and Videostream is already allowed through firewall.
I found the location of Videostream by right-clicking on the app icon, them go to "more" then "Open file location." Open Malwarebytes, go to Settings, then Exclusions, then Add Exclusion, then choose Exclude an Application that Connects to the Internet, and then browse to the location to select Videostream.
That is it. Hope it works for you all.

Looks like a bug... keep on buffering every 5-10 min even with small files.

Any feedback from videostream team?
-
ahmeha is absolutely right! Quit Malwarebytes and it started working fine! No more buffering. Thanks ahmeha!

@billgrove unfortunately I don't have malwarebytes! :(

Removed Avast and still buffering.
Airflow is an alternative that is not buffering every 5 minutes, unfortunately it's not a canadian product. -
@draft00 The five minutes buffer has been completely fixed in Videostream native! Check it out here: http://getvideostream.com/download/#
