How Long Does A Sew-In Take
-
Sew-in extensions are a simple way to add length and volume to your hair. With the secure sew-in method, the hair is stitched into place and then attached to your natural hair by weaving it in during your appointment.
Sew in methods are the most popular and affordable way to add length, volume and fullness to your natural hair. The process begins by threading hair through a machine with a section of human hair attached to a strand of synthetic material called weft. It's then placed into a removable form so that it can be set in place by cutting off the unwanted ends and sealing with specialized adhesive. Once secured, your new weave can be trimmed, styled and removed at any time.
Sew in extensions take anywhere from three to six hours, depending on the length and type of extension you choose. The process generally involves the hair being pre-inserted into the weft at your local hair studio, then removed from its plastic container and placed on top of a cap with adhesive. A technician will wet your hair before applying a skin around the cap which is then sewn onto your head.
