Thanks, I tried that, still nothing all the remote says is 'searching for videostream'. I can stream from my laptop to chromecast no problem but the remote app will not connect......

It's still not working, positively refuses to find videostream, I've reinstalled everything and still nada. Any ideas guys?

The Remote app on my Samsung Galaxy Note cannot find videostream anymore at all. It was working fine until it suddenly stopped in the middle of a stream last night and still can't find videostream. Any ideas?

@grahamkennery If you look at the second screenshot I posted where it says ' cast this tab to' when videostream is working there is usually a long string of letters and I have managed to get it to work on it once today, but then it went back to the above. I am having no issues with casting tabs from my iPhone, or indeed from my macbook, or pc laptop. Not sure what else I can tell you in an email but I'll be in touch ta

EDIT : so what's happening is that Videostream has stopped working with Chromecast as Chromecast is working fine by itself, is that about right?

If I click on that, whether I choose a video first or not all I get is the screen above, I've tried doing that fix again, but still nothing!

Nope. It has happened again. Exact same as before, despite running the link above again and trying all the usual. Help!

Is this a specific file or all .avi files?

Everything stopped working for me and the guy suggested I click here and fix both issues:
