Dolby Pro Logic II matrix encoding support

Would it be possible to support on the fly encoding of multi-channel audio streams into Dolby Pro Logic II? Since my TV only supports stereo for the optical out and my home theater system does not have an HDMI input but supports decoding of Dolby Pro Logic II.
Such an option is available in FFDShow and LAV decoder.
