CCTV stands for closed-circuit television. This is a security system that works on a 24-hour basis. It is very common in public areas like airports, train stations, shopping malls, hospitals, banks, etc. In short, CCTV is a device that uses the cameras that are installed in every corner of the area.
There are two types of CCTV camera systems, which are monitored through a receiver and a display system. When the system gets an alert, it will send an alert to the security personnel and they will come to investigate the matter.
You can’t find CCTV at home or in your office, because it has been installed for security purposes only. But you can use it for some other purposes. For example, you can use it to monitor the activities of your kids when you are away from your home. You can also use CCTV to monitor your property. You can even use CCTV to catch some criminal activity.

Thank you so much for sharing this great blog. Very inspiring and helpful too. Hope you continue to share more of your ideas, The answer depends on the type of system involved. The systems are best defined by the types of cameras used. There are two common types of cameras in use today: Analog and IP-based cameras.

Saying that it's a security system best describes it, actually. You can easily see footage if something happened in your house, that's why many people install it in their places.

That's actually pretty popular to install CCTV in a house indeed, and I can say that it's quite convenient to track the rooms in your home or your yard. Personally, I installed a Starter kit and connected a few surveillance cameras to it after I heard that there was a robbery in my area, and I can tell you that with this system, I started feeling way better, and I stopped stressing about someone breaking in my house because I know I'll be notified as well as the security company.
