  • Gabapentin is recognized as GABA analogues, meaning it is gamma-aminobutyric acid structurally (GABA). GABA is an essential neurotransmitter for the calming of mammals' central nervous system.

      Sedation (sleepiness) and incoordination are the most frequent side effects of gabapentin in dogs. To minimize these effects, incremental changes in dosage over time are recommended.
      This drug should stop working within 24 hours, while effects in pets with liver or kidney disease can be longer.
