Destiny 2 Players Point Out How Unrewarding Legendary Astral Lineup Is
-
Destiny 2 is one of the most played games on all platforms and as such, Bungie always tries to offer many different game modes for players to tackle however they please. Endgame activities are often extremely rewarding to play, considering that they come with Pinnacle Gear which can help increase players' power level, but also exclusive weapons and armor pieces that are also very powerful. An example of this logic is Grandmaster Nightfalls, which is the peak difficulty in PvE aside from Raids and Master Raids like Vault of Glass, and they grant plenty of crafting materials and Nightfall weapons to boot.
Every new season in Destiny 2 comes with seasonal activities like the current Shattered Realm and Astral Alignment, but not all of them are as rewarding as the next. In fact, a fan favorite was Menagerie due to how full of enemies and loot it was, as opposed to Astral Alignments' shallow rewards and mediocre enemy density. Still, Bungie released a new difficulty for Astral Alignment yesterday with the Destiny 2 weekly reboot update, and the community isn't happy about that.
The main problem with Legend Astral Alignment is that it feels extremely unrewarding to play for a few reasons, the first being the appearance of additional chests at the end that don't even grant armor with 60 total stats, unlike Expunge from Season of the Splicer. As such, a Destiny 2 and Redditor player by the name of Duke_of_the_URL posted a statement that sees the new difficulty for Astral Alignment as the old Year 1 "two blues and one token" meme.
This comes from the public event on Mercury, which at the time had been labeled by Bungie as one of the most rewarding pieces of content in the game if completed on Heroic, but the truth is that they often dropped blue engrams and a simple token. Another user by the name of Dewardalot shared his take on Legend Astral Alignment, stating how useless it would be to run it if it weren't for the achievement linked to it. In fact, it can be useful to run the activity for those Destiny 2 players who want to get the season title before it disappears with The Witch Queen.

However, other than that, players have to go through LFG to jump into the activity because matchmaking is disabled even if it is designed for 6 players, and it also takes longer than normal Astral Alignment. Generally, players looking for seasonal weapons could also run the normal astral alignment with matchmaking twice instead of a legend, and still get the same amount of chests, if not more loot. As for high armor rolls, players should stick to the Expunge and Season of the Splicer engrams, keeping in mind that the base stats for them are always very high.
