For Honor and Dead by Daylight cross paths in a new Halloween event
-
Halloween is coming up and less than two weeks before the spooky holiday hits, live service games are kicking off their Christmas events. That includes For Honor, Ubisofts' multiplayer third-person combat game with knights, samurai, and Vikings as playable characters. Now For Honor can add another type of playable character in undead Killers, as Ubisoft has announced a special Halloween collaboration with the multiplayer horror game Behavior Interactives Dead by Daylight.
Introducing the Survivors of the Fog event, a crossover event between For Honor and Dead by Daylight that will run between October 21 and November 11. Survivors of the Fog will unlock a unique version of the For Honors 4v4 PvP game mode and will be exclusively available to play in For Honor. There is no information on whether the For Honor characters will be found in Dead by Daylight at the moment. Regardless, it's a great opportunity for For Honor players, both new and old, to get back in the game and have some terrifying fun.
This is how the new Survivors of the Mist game mode will work in For Honor. As in the traditional Dominion gameplay, there will be two teams of four competing for control of various capture points. Only, instead of each team having an army of AI-controlled warriors by their side, there will be a neutral Assassin roaming the map looking for players. That Killer is Dead by Daylights Trapper, bringing with him his blunt-edged sword, bear traps, and the Entity's sacrifice hooks. Players will also be able to fight and kill the Trapper for bonus points, though the Trapper will be returning soon.
As a reward for participating in the Survivors of the Fog event, Ubisoft grants all players a free Event Pass, which is a smaller version of their Battle Pass, for the duration of the Halloween event. Progressing through the free Event Pass will grant players a Dead by Daylight-inspired effect, an ornament, and possibly even a battle outfit.

Survivors of the Fog is still ultimately a very For Honor experience. Since players don't control the trapper, Dead by Daylight's crossover element is more thematic than a full gameplay experience. Regardless, being chased by a Dead by Daylight Killer while trying to play a normal 4v4 game will certainly confuse things. Whether it is scary or not will depend on how strong the Trapper ends up being.
For Honor has been around for over four years and while it may not be a very popular live service game, Ubisoft has clearly gone the extra mile to create something fun for its player base this Halloween. The Survivors of the Mist event runs from Thursday, October 21 to November 11.
