Electric Mobility Benefits



  • Electric mobility is the practice of using electric motorized vehicles for transportation. Electric bicycles, scooters, and motorcycles are just a few types of electric vehicles.

    Electric bikes (also known as e-bikes) are similar to traditional bicycles but with an electric motor that assists riders who pedal. E-bike motors usually operate by helping propel the cranks or chain rings at speeds ranging from 250 watts to over 1 ,000 watts, depending on local laws. The power supplied by the battery can range considerably according to usage and topography; in some cases, it can exceed 1 ,000 watts itself. Rechargeable batteries typically last between 25 and 50 miles (40–80 km).

    Using an electric bike for transportation has many benefits including:

    -Allows for easier starts from a standstill due to the electric motor's ability to quickly provide maximum torque at start up.

    -Less sweat as the rider is not exhausted from exertion as with a regular bicycle.

    -Embodies sustainability as it requires no petroleum usage and emits no harmful emissions into the environment compared to internal combustion vehicles.

    -The cost of one e-bike versus 10–15 bikes is roughly equivalent, making it a more affordable mode of transportation over time.

    E-bikes are becoming increasingly popular in China, Europe, North America, and Australia due to many advantages they offer their riders. They have been shown to increase commuting distance by 50%, improve road safety by reducing traffic.
